Jonathan’s path to becoming a lawyer was shaped by his original aspirations to be either a social worker or a writer—two roles that he feels are deeply intertwined with his current legal practice. Family law, in particular, provides him with the opportunity to engage in the restorative process, whether resolving disputes or helping clients through times of grief. For Jonathan, every legal case is more than just a matter of law; it’s about understanding the human stories behind the cases and helping clients navigate pivotal moments in their lives. Jonathan’s academic background is as diverse as it is impressive. He graduated from the Yale-NUS College and NUS Law Double Degree Programme in 2022, earning both a Bachelor of Laws (with honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (with honours). His studies extended beyond the legal field, as he minored in Arts and Humanities, which has further enriched his perspective on life and law. This multidisciplinary education reflects his broad understanding of the world and enhances his ability to think creatively and empathetically when advising clients.
Outside of law, Jonathan is an avid songwriter and filmmaker, tapping into his artistic passions as a form of expression and exploration. His creative endeavours allow him to approach legal challenges with fresh perspectives and innovative solutions, making him an asset to his clients who seek out-of-the-box thinking in their legal matters.
